Chicago land Holiday Light Shows

YO GABBA GABBA PARTY DECORATIONS

Chicago kicks off the list in style by presenting an assortment of holiday light shows nearby the large Midwest city. These spicy shows feature impressive displays of color and also showcase spicy figures of a range of Christmas stories. The lights can be found at Navy Pier, the Magnificent Mile (Michigan Avenue), and the Daley Plaza German Christmas shop (also known as Christkindlmarkt).

In increasing to holiday light shows within the Chicago city limits, you can find an assortment of displays presented in the suburbs, along with Holiday Magic at Brookfield Zoo, which displays lights, and is accompanied by live music, carolers, celebrity storytellers, magicians and more! Lincoln Park Zoo also takes part in the festivities by presenting huge lighted animal sculptures and fun ice carvings free of charge. Other great Chicago light shows comprise Clearbrook's Wonderland of Lights and Wonderland of Lights at Chicago Botanical Gardens. But if you want to involve yourself in the true essence of Chicago, I suggest visiting Navy Pier and the Magnificent Mile, both overwhelming attractions, even without the lights.

McDonald's Holiday Lights at the Beach in Virginia Beach, Va

While Virginia Beach is best known as a quaint exiguous resort city that becomes densely populated with college students while varied holiday breaks, many don't know that when the students are away, the townspeople come out to play. Whether visiting this lovely measure of the Atlantic Ocean in the summer months, or while the holiday season, it remains beautiful. And it is even more so with the increasing of the holiday light shows that stretch along 31 blocks of the beloved hotel-lined boardwalk.

Unlike some holiday light shows, this one requires that you stay in your car and drive along the boardwalk (it is ended to beach combers after nightfall). A beautifully-lit archway borders the whole 31-block stretch and adds flair to the gorgeous spicy figures strategically settled on Whether side of the boardwalk. Some of the figures are centered in the sandy path to the ocean, which you can hear crashing emphatically in the background, vying for attention.

Among the over 250 spicy displays comprise fun and festive fish, jumping dolphins, and frolicking porpoises. If you're paying attention, you can catch a remarked of a shy mermaid trying to swim away from nearby rocking sailboats. There are also fun waving Santa's, giant gift-wrapped packages, and a 3-story Christmas tree. You eyes will fight to view all of the great surprises the beach has brought you - trust me, my eyes are still spinning from the struggle to catch it all.

Osborne house Spectacle of Lights in Orlando, Fl

No, it's not the Osborne house you're reasoning of. This Osborne house is originally from exiguous Rock Arkansas. Their tradition of holiday light shows began with a businessman named Jennings Osborne who strung up 1000 red lights to appease his 6-year-old daughter. Each year the light display grew until it ultimately grew to more than 3 million lights strong, which was too big for one home to manage. Luckily, the display caught the concentration of Disney Mgm Studios and was moved there. Now millions of population visit each year to catch a remarked (a blinding one at that) of the light display that includes Mickey Mouse, Santa Clause, tons of trees and carousels, and even Florida snow. While the display is huge, believe it or not, 90 percent of the figures in the Disney display came from the primary home in exiguous Rock - now that's worth checking out!

The Light Displays of Southern California

While Southern California never beyond doubt catches on to the winter weather of the holiday season, it tries to effect suit in spirit. As a result, you can find a whole of holiday light shows throughout the southern-most measure of the state offering just as much fun as you might expect in the freezing fields of Wisconsin.

Griffith Park is one place you can find a gorgeous light display. At the Los Angeles branch of Water and Power Griffith Park Holiday Lights Festival (that's quite the mouthful) you can enjoy walking through a gorgeous display of lights for a one-mile stretch. But if you prefer to stay in your car while enjoy a light display, you might want to try the Fantasy of Lights drive-through display in Vasona Park near Los Gatos. And if, on the other hand, you don't like to walk or drive your own car, you can try the Gilroy Gardens light show that allows you to enjoy their gorgeous displays from their family-friendly rides.

Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights in Ontario, Canada

If you feel like venturing out even added - out of the country to be exact - then you'll want to visit the Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights. The two miles of lights offers 100 displays along with Enchantment of Disney displays and gorgeous fireworks that light up the already gorgeously illuminated Falls.

It is always a great idea to make the most of the time you have ready while the holiday season by seeing ways to truly enjoy it. Visiting gorgeous holiday light shows in your area is just one of the many great ways to spend quality time with friends and family. If you know of other holiday light shows in your area and nearby the country, be sure to spread the word. The population behind the fun displays want them to be enjoyed by the community. Don't let anyone be left out of the fun!

A Super Hero themed party is always a fun party and easy to do without spending a lot of money. With the release of the new 2011 movie, this is a popular party theme with the boys (young and old). A true fan never outgrows their love for their favorite super hero!

hello kitty party decorations

Planning Your Party: Start planning your party about a month in advance. Decide on your guest list, menu, games and activities, and decorations. Purchase anything you can well ahead of time to save stress later. Use my ideas below to save your money and at the same time, have a fun party.

PARTY DECORATIONS

Inviting the Guest: Send out your invitations at least one week in advance. Invite guest to wear their favorite Super Hero t-shirt (if they have one) or the colors red, white, and blue to the party.

Decorating the Party Room: Decorate for your party with themed tableware and lots of red, white, and blue balloons (or red and blue star-shaped balloons)! The tableware is a great way to decorate in your theme, so use Captain America paper plates, napkins, cups, tablecover, centerpiece. If you want to save money on decorations, use solid red and blue colors for the tableware. Sometimes I purchase only the themed napkins and tablecover, and use solid color plates and cups. This makes the child happy and the parent, too! If you already have some Super Hero type toys, just set them randomly around the room. Also, a Captain America movie poster is very inexpensive and will make a great party decoration that can double as a gift! Since it's a Captain America theme, if you have any Patriotic themed decorations around the house, these would be perfect to add to the decor!

Party Games and Activities: The ideas below will cost very little money.
1. Super Hero - free play
2. Super Hero Best Move Contest
3. Hot Hero - play this like the classic Hot Potato game, but use a Super Hero doll instead.
4. Pin the Tail on the Donkey - Don't forget this classic party game.
5. Pinata - fun at any party!

The prizes and favors: A few inexpensive ideas are: wristbands, masks, stickers, tattoos, and coloring books.

Super Heroes eat on the run! Keep the menu simple with bite size snacks, small sandwiches, fruit, and chips. A fun idea for this party would be to cut sandwiches into a star shape with a cookie cutter. Serve a drink that is red or blue in color.

A The Birthday Cake is easy to do! If you'd like to save money and make your own cake, purchase a Captain America cake topper or toy figure (This can double as a gift!) to place on a homemade or bought cake. If possible, use red, white, and blue icing on the cake. If you order from a bakery, be sure and order early!

To Sum it Up
It's really pretty simple to make a fun Super Hero themed party without costing a lot of money! Invite your guest to wear a Super Hero t-shirt to your party. Decorate with Captain America themed tableware, movie posters, and lots of balloons. Play a few fun games and save time for plenty of Super Hero free play. Finish up with a Captain America birthday cake (that you can easily make yourself) and ice cream. Don't forget to take plenty of pictures! I hope these ideas have helped you plan your party!

Hosting a Tiki Party Or Luau

A tiki party or luau is the quintessential summer party. Although most tiki parties happen in a backyard or near a pool, your tiki party or luau can also be held indoors. A tropical party atmosphere is uniquely relaxing and inviting. Plus, it is very easy to decorate your home or yard with Polynesian style.

yo gabba gabba party decorations

The first step in decorating for your party is to set up a wooden tiki bar. This can take the form of a freestanding hut, or a smaller bar in any place you plan to serve food or drinks. These are no ifs ands or buts quite easy to construct, and should be covered in grass skirts or thatching for an authentic look. You can make a tiki bar in just a few days; this bar will serve as the centerpiece of your party, and instantly pull together the theme of your party. If you do not have the time to set up a full bar, decorate a table or counter with grass skirts or thatching.

YO GABBA GABBA PARTY DECORATIONS

When decorating for your themed party, use lots of natural fibers and engaging tropical colors. You can use burlap or unbleached cotton for the tablecloths, or simply use a brightly colored plastic cloth. Tiki party decorations comprise bamboo, drink umbrellas, fresh coconuts, and of course, carved statues or masks. You can also integrate beach or surfing décor, especially if your backyard has a pool. These accessories will help make your party fun and unique. Play tiki, Hawaiian guitar, or reggae as background music.

You can use citronella torches to keep the mosquitoes away from your tiki party guests, but do not light the torches if you are retention your party indoors. Always light tiki torches away from combustible materials, which can be tricky with all of the natural materials complex in decorating for a tiki party. If you are having an indoor party, reconsider using strings of festive lights instead of candles.

At your tiki party or luau, serve Hawaiian foods and appetizing tropical drinks. Your menu should comprise fresh pineapple and other fruits on skewers, roasted pork, shrimp, and grilled chicken. If you don't want to make anyone too complicated, you can even serve Hawaiian pizzas. Spam is very favorite in Hawaii, so it would be acceptable to serve with rice at your luau. Tropical punch, pina coladas, mai tais, and daiquiris are the excellent drinks for any tiki party. Don't forget the paper umbrellas, tiki mugs, and maraschino cherries!

Invite your guests to wear Hawaiian shirts or grass skirts to get them in the party mood. Hand out leis at the door as you welcome them to "the island" of your party. Hold a limbo contest. You can also give out small tiki figures as party favors, or as a prize for the contest.

Even if you don't live in a hot climate, the tiki decor can help you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. Tiki parties are a fun and relaxing way to celebrate. This summer, throw a tiki party that everybody will remember!

Concert Review - The Flaming Lips and Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Columbia MO 9-18-10

If you get a chance to go to a Flaming Lips concert, do what you can to attend. There are few words that can describe the experience. You will see a great many things, interesting people, and amazing music at the very least. They still have it, and their stage production is the best that I've seen. Yes the giant hamster ball was broken out, and yes it was awesome, but I digress.

yo gabba gabba clothes

The starting band was Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti. I felt that they should have started with different songs, but after they warmed up, they were quite good. Ariel Pink belts out his lyrics over a very talented funk infused bassist. Ariel Pink arms himself with electronic noise and a suit of garish red and green (later found out to be bought here at Columbia by The Flaming Lips), and takes to the stage with a timid ferocity. Their amazingly long haired bassist was a complete badass, cranking out some really danceable tunes along side of the electronic noise. It is important to note that it was quite hot at the time (it being done in a closed down street), so it was more of an issue of trying to stay cool rather than dance all out to the music.

YO GABBA GABBA

Unfortunately after Ariel Pink finished their set, it started to drizzle and it wasn't clear if The Flaming Lips were going to perform or not. Luckily the lead singer of the Lips came out and let everyone know that it was still on, as long as it didn't start down pouring. Fortunately for us, it never did rain too much while we were there. Unfortunately for us, it did start, and start hard, right after the show ended.

The stage was amazing, featuring a video screen the likes of which baffle the mind that had the ability to display whatever was directly in front of the lead microphone, usually lead singer Wayne Coyne, two disco balls, and a ton of confetti. Snow blowers would shoot out loads of confetti and streamers, which complimented the music to great effect.

It was mind blowing how they melded stage performance with live music. From the two groups of people wearing orange Yo Gabba Gabba suits just dancing and singing along with the music, to the freakishly large snow blowers and floating confetti filled balloons, everything was done to enhance the experience. I was happy to see that they still enjoy their live shows. You can see the joyous expression on Wayne's face as he started walking on top of the crowd in a huge inflatable hamster ball. It was quite easy to see where your ticket money went for this show.

Songs played by the Lips ranged from 'Embryonic' to some of their earlier albums. The music seemed to be evenly split between heavy guitar laden riffs to the more exploratory concept music. It all was played well, with only minor downtime due to some equipment malfunction. 'Embrionic' definitely was a main part of the act with its heavy guitars that stray on the edge of noise music.

It is interesting to note that though this concert was played downtown on a closed street, they still allowed some nude women in their animations. Nothing against it of course, but it was interesting to note, seeing as how some people are uptight about the whole nudity issue. The Lips set lasted quite a while (almost two hours by my watch) and definitely made it worth the ticket price to get in. You get some amazing imagery with some great music as well. SEE THEM IF YOU CAN!

Kids Cake Decorating

When it comes to children's cakes, you need to be more creative and artistic because children love colorful and beautiful cakes. If you are planning to create a homemade birthday cake for your child, it can be possible because baking the cake for your child's birthday is not that expensive and it can also be a fun bonding activity together with your child.

graduation party decorations

You do not need advanced materials in baking and decorating kids cakes. As long as you have the basic tools for baking and decorating cakes, you are already good to go. You can create wonderful cakes that your child will definitely love.

PARTY DECORATIONS

When creating cakes, you can also let your child help you especially if your child is a girl. Usually, girls love helping out in the kitchen so you can let your daughter help you when you are baking. You can let her do simple tasks such as beating the eggs or grouping the ingredients. Through this, you and your daughter can share great bonding time together while you are also able to bake faster through the help of your daughter.

On the other hand, you might want to save time in baking and you would like to make sure that the cake tastes good so it would be advisable to use baking mixes because these are already premixed and tastes good too. With this, you can easily create mouthwatering cakes in just simple and easy to follow instructions. Aside from that, these mixes can be cheaply purchased at bake shops or groceries. This way, if you are pressed for time you do not have to bake your cakes from scratch.

Once the cake is already baked and removed out of the oven, you can let it cool while you are preparing the other materials needed for the decorations. Since you are creating children's cakes, you should have a good knowledge about the interests of the children. This way, you will not only be able to make the cake appealing to your child, but you will also know the interests of your child.

If you have a daughter, most likely, she will love to have flowers and princesses on her cake. You can check out cake toppers for these princesses while you can also have edible flowers on her cake. On the other hand, if you have a little boy, then the cake toppers are usually superheroes or cars or his favorite cartoon characters.

True enough, it is nice to create a homemade cake especially for your child on their special day.

College Student Costumes - Yo Gabba! Gabba! Part 2

If you're a college student who loves Yo Gabba! Gabba! And is looking for a Halloween costume this year, then consider going as one of the inhabitants of Gabbaland. Small kids will think your costume is great, and other college students will probably recognize you right off the bat. We'll cover Muno, Plex, and Toodee.

yo gabba gabba party supplies

Muno is a great costume to buy pre made. Because he has bumpy skin, it's hard to recreate by making your own costume, unless you want to put some work into it. Premade Muno costumes are usually a one piece jumpsuit modeled after Muno's bumpy skin, a tall hat with his one eye on it, and matching mittens. If you're going to try and make this costume, you could go simple and get a red t shirt and red pants, and then top it off with a red hat. Buy some white and black felt, and glue one round eye onto the hat, and you'll be good to go. If you want to get a little more involved, consider hitting up a craft store or the kid's toy aisle, and try and pick up some balls, ornaments, or molds. As long as they're round, or half round, they'll do. For round, cut them in half, and then spray paint, or use acrylic paint to colour them red. Once they're dry glue them to the shirt, pants, and hat to mimic Muno's bumpy surface. There's a chance they'll fall off while you wear your costume, so avoid gluing them to problem areas, like your seat, knees, elbows, or anywhere that's going to be bent or pushed on a lot.

YO GABBA GABBA

Plex the robot is another complicated costume. The pre made costume has a yellow shirt with robot detailing, and silver sleeves like Plex has. It comes with a hat with Plex's face on it, and you pair it with your own pants and shoes. If you want to go the inexpensive route, pick up a yellow T shirt. Layer it over a grey, long sleeved shirt, and wear black pants. Buy a tube of fabric paint, and use Google to look up an image of Plex, and recreate his robot designs on the yellow shirt. Then, get a hat, yellow preferred, and glue felt eyes to it, and find a small ball to affix to the top. Paint the ball red before you glue it in place. Pair the shirts and hats with dark pants and sneakers, and you're good to go.

Toodee, the cat dragon, is a costume you'll have to make yourself. The few pre made Toodee costumes available are very expensive, often costing upwards of 0. So, save yourself the cost of books for the term, and make the costume. Second hand stores should come in handy for this pale blue outfit. Find a blue shirt and pants, and pair with your own shoes. Hit up the craft store for some lighter blue felt. Cut out an oval, and glue it on the shirt to mimic Toodee's pale blue belly. For the head, either buy a blue hat and glue felt eyes on it, or pick up an inexpensive cat costume set in white. Usually it's only ears and a tail, and you'll only need the ears. Using fabric dye, or even some blue food colouring, dye the ears pale blue. Now your costume is complete!

Lottery label Favor Holders

Lottery tickets make astonishing party favors. But you can't exactly just hand out the tickets to your guests and say 'here ya go - thanks for coming'! That wouldn't exactly be a class act. But by putting them in attractive, personalized lottery marker favor holders- now you have a classy gift.

yo gabba gabba party decorations

You can unquestionably make your own holders quite easily. Go to a stationary or craft store and pick envelopes in the color and size of your option - but make sure they are smaller than the typical letter sized envelope (No. 10 size). If you are good with a printer - set up a template adjusted for the envelop size and print your own 'thank you' message on each envelope in a nice font. If it's for a wedding, "Lucky in Love" followed by the couple's name and wedding date is always popular. If you have nice handwriting, instead of printing you can write the message on each envelope.

YO GABBA GABBA PARTY DECORATIONS

By adding the words "Name" and "Table" and a line after each you can also use them as your place cards. That saves you time, money, and hassle!

If the above sounds like too much work - or you want ensure a professional, elegant look to the lottery marker favor holders, you can purchase practice lottery favor holders. These give you a lot of flexibility: color of envelope, embellishments, etc. All you need to do is slip the lottery marker into each holder!

Don't gamble on your party favors; lottery marker favors are always a winning choice.

Girls Birthday Party Ideas (Ages 8-12)

Throwing a unique and memorable birthday party for girls aged 8-12 can be challenging. They are old enough to have outgrown the playground, but not quite ready for teenage activities yet. Here are several ideas to make sure your daughter's birthday will be a happy and successful event.

zebra party decorations

1. Roller or Ice Rink Skating Party - Your local roller or ice skating rink will likely have numerous birthday party packages to choose from. Typically, they have a party room that you can reserve with a host/hostess to run the party. The group of kids will normally get skate admission and rental, food, beverages, cake and ice cream, game tokens and more. Just check with your local rink for details.

PARTY DECORATIONS

2. Pottery Making Party - Pottery painting parties at a local pottery place are all the rage. Many pottery places allow you to rent a private room for the birthday party where the kids get to make and take their own personalized plate or bowl. They normally ask that you bring your own food and decorations, but again it depends on the local place so call them directly for details. When they are done, each child can have their creation fired in the kiln for a permanent souvenir from the party.

3. Formal Tea Party - This is a great idea especially for the younger aged girls. The idea is that the girls dress up in their "Sunday best" (dresses, hats, boas, white gloves, etc.) and are served a real tea time. You can either transform your own home into a cafe or see if there is a local tea place that offers tea parties for girls. If you decide to do it in your own home, just set up some kids size tables with white fabrics and doilies, some fresh flowers and of course formal tea party ware. Serve the "tea" (juice) in a teapot along with finger sandwiches such as heart-shaped bologna and/or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. For a great finish to the party, make a teapot-shaped cake. Before or after tea time, you could have a little fashion show so that each girl can show off her beautiful outfit. Be sure to take lots of pictures.

4. Swimming Party - Some local pools will allow groups to reserve the entire swimming pool area for a short period of time. Normally, they provide a lifeguard and staff who keep an eye on the kids and run games such as water ring tosses. Normally, they'll have a party room that is adjacent to the changing areas/restrooms where you can set-up decorations, snacks and cake.

5. Gymnastics Party - Try the local Gymnastics Academy to see what they offer. Often you can get some time for the kids with an instructor and then some time after for food and gifts.

6. Dance Party - Throw your own diva dance party at home or find a local dance studio that offers birthday parties for kids. The kids are transformed into dance divas and rock stars by doing their hair with brightly colored hair pieces, glitter and braids and then adding some cool make-up like sparkly glitter eyes, blush and lip gloss. Depending on the party music theme, you can have the party girls singing and dancing to your birthday girls favorite music or dances like the electric slide, freeze dance, etc. If you are having it at a studio, normally they will have karaoke microphones, lots of music to choose from and props for the kids. Be sure to videotape their performances!

How to Decorate For Your St Patrick's Day Party

If you know how to decorate for a St. Patrick's Day party, then the actual decorating can be almost as much fun as the party itself. Shamrocks, Leprechauns, and Pots-O'-Gold are the typical St. Patrick's Day decorations, but it is how you use them that will set the tone for your party. But if you are not sure just how you want your decorations to look, then these tips and ideas will get you started. With all the St. Patrick's Day decorations and party supplies available online, your decorating choices are almost unlimited. And with just a little creativity, you can create a St. Patrick's Day party that everyone will enjoy.

graduation party decorations

Your St. Patrick's Day party decorations should start at your front door or the entrance to your party room. Everybody is a little Irish on St. Patrick's Day, and this is where you can start to 'show your Irish'. Nothing says 'party' like balloons, so that is the place to start:

PARTY DECORATIONS

Balloons

- Using the traditional St. Patrick's Day colors of green and white, (gold too), put a bouquet of 3 - 5 balloons at your party entrance. Or tie them to a porch railing or walkway lamp post.

- Balloons can also be used as attention-getters, so you can use them on your snack or beverage tables to draw your guest's attention to them.

- If you have a sit-down party table you can use a grouping of balloons as your table centerpiece.

- Room corners, and bare spots that don't really fit for other decorating pieces can be filled with balloons too! For corners, just make a balloon bouquet anchored to a floor weight, with ribbons that let the balloons float at eye-level. Use the same technique for other bare spots in the room, just adjust the balloon height to match the space you want to fill.

*Note: Small party-size helium tanks are available at most party supply stores, and stores with party supply departments.

Next you should consider where you might use St. Patrick's Day banners, flags, and streamers. Just like balloons, using a sign or banner at the entrance is a good way to announce the party.

Banners, Flags, and Streamers

- There are a lot of St, Patrick's Day flags you can use outside your home to announce "your party spot", they can also be used as wall-hanging decor' at the party room entrance, or on the walls of the party room.

- Banners can be used to 'anchor' a St. Patrick's Day decorations grouping on a wall. Use them over or under a grouping of decorations cut-outs of shamrocks or other St. Patrick's Day theme items.

- Streamers can be used as 'swags' on a wall or across the header of an entrance, around the edges of a snack or beverage table, or even from corner to corner of a wall in the room.

- Garland-type streamers can even be used on your table tops. Weave them around large items on the table, or down the center-line of a sit-down table.

Shamrock, Leprechaun, and Pot-O'-Gold flat cut-outs are a standard part of almost all St. Patrick's Day decorations and party supplies packages. You can use these to accent a party theme, or to create groupings of decoration pieces.

St. Patrick's Day Cut-outs

- Shamrock cut-outs can be used on your walls, individually, or as part of a group of cut-outs to create a collage' of different St. Patrick's Day theme items.

- Large flat cut-outs can be used like placemats under service pieces on the party side-tables, or main table centerpiece.

- Smaller cut-outs can be put on larger service pieces, (like ice bowls and beverage coolers), to add a touch of St. Patrick's Day color.

Decorating Tips:

- Try to use your St. Patrick's Day decorations and party supplies to maintain a design theme, not just a conglomeration of St. Patrick's Day symbols plastered everywhere.

- Don't let your tables become flat and one-dimensional. Use elevations and vertical decoration items to give your tables some depth. For instance: a small shamrock or pot-o'-gold cut-out can be attached to a tissue box or basket to give a vertical look instead of just lying flat on the table.

- Expanding accordion-type decoration items can be set on up-side down baskets to give them some elevation.

These are just some basic ideas to get you started. When you check out some of the St. Patrick's Day decorations and party supplies available online, with these ideas in mind, you will discover many more items to use to decorate for your St. Patrick's Day party.

PARTY DECORATIONS

Stock up on art supplies. Keep pink and blue ribbons handy, as well as lace and eyelet trim. These can be used to decorate invitations, or to add to the edges of tables or desks. You can also decorate your venue's walls with twisted ribbons, and hang decorations from these ribbons. Such decorations might include baby bottles filled with candies, baby socks filled with pastel-colored chewing gum, or even cloth diapers labeled with a baby's name.

You may also need to stock up on baby-related supplies, such as clear sterile baby bottles, cloth diapers, socks, bibs, and even an antique stroller. An antique stroller, if well decorated, can serve as a great corner piece for a venue, or can be a good place for the baby shower guests to place their gifts in. You can use an antique stroller again and again if you want to make a business out of your baby shower decorations.

For even better baby shower decorations, keep small charms and figurines handy. You might also want to carry a small notebook and pen around on which to jot down your ideas. Consult with your baby supplies stores and department stores on the latest trends in baby fashion and toys so that you can spice up your decorations and baby shower planning strategies.

Edible Favors - Purchased Or Homemade?

You just can't go wrong with choosing an edible favor for your party favor - nearly everyone loves receiving their very own tasty treat. 'Edibles' can cover a lot of ground together with candy and cookies, honey and jams, popcorn or caramel corn, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, lemonade and cocktail mixes, etc. They can also take two forms - purchased or homemade (the latter often being a money saver).

The benefit of purchasing edible favors are three-fold: 1) there's microscopic to no work on your part, 2) edible favors are commonly nicely packaged for gift gifting, and 3) many such favors offer personalized labels definite to the occasion.

You can also run the gamut of cheap to extravagant (and typically expensive) favors - it all depends on your budget and the impression you want to make at your event. Edible favors on the more cheap side contain lollipops, singular beverage serving packets and Hershey® bars with personalized labels as examples. On the more indulgent side are chocolate place cards, edible purses, chocolate boxes filled with truffles and designer cookies.

Homemade:

Homemade doesn't necessarily mean you baked it or ready it yourself - but you well could! For example - everyone loves homemade cookies. When giving these as your party favors, bake them in whether mini sizes or jumbo size. Then, in your favor bag, put whether one jumbo cookie in the bag or a handful of mini cookies. The great news with this favor is that you can bake and ice the cookies months in expand and take them out when the time comes to fill the favor bags.

Other homemade edibles contain flavored popcorn, caramel corn, candies and jam just to name a few. Put a personalized label on the bag or jar, tie it up with pretty ribbon and you have yourself a terrific looking and tasting party favor. Your guests will well appreciate the time and endeavor that went into this favor.

Where to find favor bags for homemade treats? Try craft stores such as Michaels. They commonly offer a variety of cello bags or paper bags that are excellent for edibles. They also often sell labels that can be personalized. However, you can also turn to websites for the latter such as Myownlabels.com

Decorating Outside Your Home For Halloween (A Spooky Theme)

For many people the best part of Halloween is being able to decorate the outside of their home. This doesn't have to be limited to just the front yard. Decorating the backyard can create a very spooky atmosphere. You can even design a detour that will take each of your guests on a long walk that circles the backyard before leading them to the entrance. This way they get to enjoy the full benefits of your decorating efforts.

party decorations

The traditional pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns make great additions when you decorate the outside of your home for Halloween. The light that these decorations give off will help your guest to see their way around and add the perfect lighting to create scary shadows that surround the other decorations. Ghost and goblins are an old favorite that can still make your guest look over their shoulder twice. Don't be afraid to get very creative with these items. Some of the newer designs are now being made inflatable to help give them an even more lifelike appearance.

PARTY DECORATIONS

The use of a fog machine can create an illusion that can make your yard the spookiest of all. This is especially true when you litter the lawn with fake body parts and fake blood splattered all about the area. The fog just intensifies the whole spooky theme. Don't forget about a special door bell ring that alerts you of the incoming guest with screams, howling or some other unique Halloween greeting. You can even have a host that is decked out in one of the scariest costumes around to stand outside your door to personally welcome each and every one of you Halloween guest.

Add special sound effects that will begin whenever your guest walks past a certain area. You can also use props that are programmed on a timer to go off at specific intervals. Spider webs are also a great decorating idea that will help you to create a spooky outdoor theme. Make sure that you don't forget the customary black cat and maybe a witch or two sitting in the trees watching the guest wondering by. It's just not Halloween without a few traditional items.

Walking into a party store is like walking into the best memories of your life.

But if you own a such a store, you know that the magic doesn't just happen on its own. Owners and managers have to make detailed decisions, such as what merchandise to buy and how to display it. One of the questions they have to ask is what are the best plastic packaging for party stores.

YO GABBA GABBA PARTY DECORATIONS

Small Items

These kinds of stores are filled with tiny items: party favors such as stickers, pencils, noisemakers or exiguous plastic toys; candy in exiguous private sized wrappers; buttons proclaiming everything from "Happy Halloween" to "It's a Boy;" balloons in every size, shape, and quantity; makeup, applicators and accessories for costumes, and a hundred other small items that fill shelves, displays, and countertops. The best plastic packaging for party stores help keep all these small items organized, neat, and easy to reach. A party store will probably use several separate kinds of plastic packaging for these small items, together with buckets inserted into display racks, fishbowls for countertop display, and bins with lids and scoops for candy.

Larger Items

In expanding to all the small items, these stores also carry larger items. In these cases, you sometimes find that one item has been displayed while the others are stored or stocked nearby. For instance, a picnic display might consist of an oversized umbrella or folding chair, but the actual items for sale will have to be folded up and stocked in a container. The best plastic packaging for party stores will allow for both display and stocking of items of many separate sizes. Some handy types of plastic packaging for larger items are plastic trays, large round containers, and spinners that hold a range of items at separate eye levels.

Storage

Party stores are the go-to place for seasonal needs, such as Christmas decorations and Halloween accessories. But of course, you won't sell out of these; some of them need to go into storage and come out again next year. Plastic packaging are ideal for this kind of storage. The best plastic packaging for party store storage are light, easy to carry, and hold a lot of your merchandise. Large bins with sealing or hinged lids are a good option, as are smaller bins or canisters for smaller seasonal items. Princess Birthday Party Decorating Ideas

The time has come for your little princess to celebrate her birthday and she has decided that this is the year for her royal ball; an enchanting afternoon to celebrate with all of her friends. Now what? Relax, take a deep breath and follow our guide to decorate for the Perfect Princess Party.

graduation party decorations

Whether you a month or even just a week to plan, we will make this birthday the easiest and best.

PARTY DECORATIONS

First you need to decide what is doable and what you can do without. If you have a budget, stick to the basics. You do not need to spend a lot of money to have a magical day.

Of course decorations are a must! If you are on a budget, the dollar store is your friend. You are certain to find streamers, table covers and balloons there. Here you can save some money by purchasing basic colors instead of Princess themed streamers and balloons. Buy a mix of pink, purple, white or yellow. These are the basic colors for princesses.

First, start by making a thrown for the princess. If she is younger in age, a child's chair will work great. My daughter had a Cinderella plush chair that made a great thrown. If you do not have something similar, take a basic chair and cover with tulle fabric. If it is an adult chair, try adding a step stool in front, to make it easier for her to get on and off. Place chair against a blank wall if possible

Using more tulle, curtains or streamers, decorate the wall directly behind the thrown. Arrange on the wall as you would arrange drapes on a window. Instead of the window being the focal point, the thrown will be instead.

What thrown would be complete with a carpet that leads up to it? I used large red construction paper and taped it together to make a red walk way carpet. I already had it on hand and it added so much flair to the thrown area. The girls loved walking on the "red carpet".

Entering the princess party can be just as exciting as the inside, with doorway decoration. If you are crafty and have patience try this project. Start by deciding which doorway you would like to decorate. It can be the doorframe to the house or to the thrown area. Measure the width of the doorframe, so that you know how wide to make your castle entrance. Using cardboard or heavy paper cut the top half and shape to represent a castle making castle towers. Leave the bottom half straight so that it aligns parallel to the floor. Try to make it a good height, so that the adults won't bump their heads coming it and out. After decorating with construction paper or paint, hang from the top of the doorway. If you have the time or would like to make it more elaborate, you can also add the sides of the castle and a lowered drawbridge. These decorations can be made in advance and setup the night before.

If adding a castle entrance is too much work, try adding streamers and balloons instead.

Decorating the tables and chairs can be just as easy or elaborate depending on your budget, space and time. If you want to have a table just for the princess and her court, design her table with a Princess themed, pink or purple table cover and all other tables should have white table covers. Centerpieces can be a single red rose in a vase to honor Belle of Beauty and the Beast or glass slippers if Cinderella is her favorite. You can find faux roses and vases in inexpensive party stores or in dollar discount stores, whereas glass slippers may have to be an online purchase from auction sites or online party stores.

Chairs can be draped with tulle or fabric and embellished with a bow in the back. If you have a table just for the princess and her court, you can just decorate the chairs for them.

Decorate the cake table with Princess themed napkins, plates and party favors. Be all the little girls have tiaras or princess hats and the little boys have crowns or swords. You can also have the party goers dress in royal attire to add flair to such a special occasion.

Dress up the walls with princess pictures and posters can add that special touch. A great idea is to print princess pictures, place in frames and hang on a wall to represent all the princesses that came before yours. You can purchase inexpensive frames in discount stores, dollar stores and superstores. Find nice princess pictures by searching online.

Include your princess in the decision making; She knows what she likes. Last but not least, don't be afraid to be bold and help make your Princess feel special on her birthday, after all she is royalty.

Office Holiday Party Decorations on a Budget

It is a little more than a month until Christmas, and you have just been informed that you were picked to be on the office holiday party decoration committee. A committee of one. YOU! It was also made clear that funds for decorations are limited. Great. Never fear, the good news is that it will be held at the office, not a rented banquet room. Yikes! Don't lose hope. Now that you have an idea as to your location, you now have a blank canvas to put your artistic abilities to work. Here are some inspiring ideas to make your office party into a winter wonderland!

hello kitty party decorations

Start with your table decorations. If your budget is too low to add accents to the room, your table(s) will be your focal point. Anything after that is superfluous. If your tables are small, rearrange them into longer tables. This will cut costs, as you will not have to decorate as many tables. Try using white plastic tablecloths, instead of the red or green. The white background will give a snowy touch and make your table decorations stand out more. For a winter wonderland effect, choose blue, white, and silver for your color scheme.

PARTY DECORATIONS

The center pieces do not have to be so large that conversation is thwarted, but balanced to the size of your table. Several small decorations grouped together can be eye catching as long as you keep your groupings to a minimum. Make an arrangement of 3 tapered Christmas trees made from Styrofoam cones. Spray paint the large and small cones silver, then glue blue and silver beads and ribbon for a festive look. Your medium sized cone can be left white with colored decorations on it. Taper them in a tripod shape, then add tea lights on either side. In order to balance this group, add garland into the mix.

Take your garland and ripple it down the length of the table, but leave enough space for a place setting at each ends. Within each ripple of the garland, sprinkle potpourri. You can add small pine cones, decorative confetti and more tea lights to the array as well. For an additional sparkle, spray paint the potpourri on one side with silver glitter. For fun, cut about 12" of wired star garland and wrap around your table garland in sections, with the ends pointed up and out. Bingo! A simple design that is festive, and easy on the pocket.

If there are funds left over and a wall to decorate, draped garland and wreath are always an additional benefit. Another crafty decoration would be to ask your fellow employees for a picture of them and their family. Frame them in Christmas wrap, and scrap book them on a poster board. This will bring up entertainment and conversation during the party.

Usually, your company will have a Christmas tree with decorations from previous years. If not, having one is not necessary. However, if you have the funds, you may want to invest in an artificial tree. Add wide, wired blue ribbon with blue and silver glass ball ornaments to carry on with your winter wonderland theme.

With these quick and easy ideas for your office party decorations, you will soon be singing "To face unafraid, the plans that you have made, for walking in a winter wonderland". Happy Holidays!

Children are always on the move and seem to have a never ending supply of energy. A two or 3 years old could run in circles for what seems like forever without getting sweaty or tiring out. For those times when your child would like a break from doing all the work, but still wants to be on the move, having toddler ride on cars available to play with will reason and your sanity and your baby will stay entertained and having fun. There are 4 main types of child cars that are certain to please and entertain your tiny ones. These include bicycles and tricycles, vans, electric riding toys and pedal powered ride on cars.

yo gabba gabba costumes

Bicycles and tricycles are possibly a couple of the most well liked sorts of toddler ride on toys on the market today. These bikes and trikes are sized just right for tiny legs and often feature a detachable handle that may be used to push the toddler on the bike before he or she has developed the talents and/or strength to peddle by him or herself. These toys are often made from metal, but are most frequently made from a sturdy, hard plastic. These child ride on cars do require adult help and supervision, but, once youngsters grow older, they may be able to use them more independently.

YO GABBA GABBA

Radio Flyer is probably the best known truck manufacturer. Babies have so much fun with lorries because they may be able to pull the lorries themselves, but when they get bored with walking, can hop into the lorry and go for a ride.

The most well liked of these are possibly the Fischer Price Power Wheels, but are also made by other firms like Safety initial and Peg Perego. Kids do not need to pedal and parents do not need to push in order for their tiny ones to get moving. With these, helmets are advised and adult supervision is a must have.

Whichever type of toddler ride on toys you chose, you may be sure that your toddler will have a blast being on the move!

Another type is the pedal powered ride on automobile. These are great for exercise and can suit all ages from babes to older children that want more speed! Some of the pedal powered ride on cars can get pretty fancy and awfully fast which suits the velocity freaks really well!

Fun Games For Kids Birthday Parties

Fun games to use at your next kids birthday party are right here. Just pick some of these titles and twist them a puny bit. Make them match your unique party theme. For example, Simon Says can come to be the Mummy Says at a Halloween party or it can come to be The Pirate Says at a kids pirate party. Use these first-rate fun party games, add a new title and make it unique to your party. Give your party guests a in fact fun, fun, fun game session at that special boy or girls birthday celebration.

Mad Libs is a fun way to get party guests to open up. What Mad Libs do is make a story...a funny story. And everyone can help to make this story and it should be silly...that is what makes it so much fun. You begin to play Mad Libs with a basic story line. You must leave some words out and put in the kind of word that will fit there. For example, Mary blank her bike...so that blank would need to be filled in by a Verb. Mary wore a blank on her head. That blank would need to be filled in by a Noun. See...how the game goes along? Each child or guest can fill in one of the missing words and then when the words are all filled in read the story....You can find books with party Mad Libs in them or you can make up your own story line using the names of the birthday star and the party guests in it.

YO GABBA GABBA PARTY DECORATIONS

Chinese Whispers is another very uncomplicated game that is fun to play. Sit everyone in a circle and have someone start playing by telling them the Game Sentence. In Chinese Whispers a sentence or phrase is told to the first player. That player must whisper it to the next player and so on around the circle. When the phrase or sentence is told to the last player, that player must stand up and say the sentence out loud. What is so funny about that? Well, normally by the time the message is delivered to everyone, it has changed a great deal from the primary sentence. Make your sentence something silly like "Wet dogs shake and shake to get dry" or "Dogs use umbrellas only when it rains cats and dogs". Now you can also rename your game to fit your party theme. The Pirate Whispers at a pirate party and the Princess Whispers at a princess theme party...and have your phrase match the theme as well.

Musical Party Games are fun for everyone. Frost Dance and Musical Chairs are two that come to mind right always when we are talking about fun musical party games for kids. With either game you need someone to stop and start the music. To play these games you will need either a dance floor area or chairs set around in a circle. With Frost Dance when the music starts everyone begins to dance. When the music stops everyone must freeze. If a dancer does not Frost right away they are out. With Muscial Chairs you must have one less chair than you have players. Every time a player is eliminated you remove another chair. Here is how you play. Set the chairs out in a circle and when the music begins to play have all the party guests walk around the circle of chairs. When the music stops each child must sit in a chair. The one who does not have a chair to sit in is out. Let the kids who are out start on a party craft or the next activity. Now to make these fun party games unique, rename them. Royal Ball Frost Dance or Pirates Frost Dance will make these uncomplicated and fun party games a bit more arresting for your guests.

Pass the Parcel is an arresting and fun party game for a kids birthday party...and adults will enjoy it too. It is another musical party game so have the music ready. It's one of those fun, fun, fun games that has been handed down straight through the years because it is enjoyable. This is another game you can rename and give some new life to. To play Pass the Parcel you need a parcel and some music that goes along with your party theme. For a princess party play some Disney Princess songs, for a pirate party play What Do You Do With A Drunken Sailor...lol, or for a cowboy theme party use some western cowboy songs. You can name your parcel agreeing to your party theme too. The princesses' package, the pirate's treasure or the cowboys saddle bag are all possibilities for a parcel name. Okay, now, how to play Pass the Parcel. Wrap the parcel a lot. And with each layer of wrapping comprise a prize...it can be a small prize like some temporary tattoos or stickers, or a lollipop or anything prize you decide upon. Sit everyone in a circle and start the music and Pass the Parcel. Stop the music and the guest who has the parcel can unwrap a layer of wrapping. Plus they get the prize inside. When a player gets to unwrap the parcel and keep the prize, they must leave the circle. Keep going until there is only one child left and of course, they get to keep the prize in the middle of all those layers.

A first-rate and very fun party game for a kids birthday party is Pin the Tail on the Donkey. This fun kids game is so easy to turn into a new version. Pin the Crown on the Princess, Pin the Eye Patch on the Pirate or X Marks the Spot are other fun ideas. Pin the Hat on the Cowboy or the Eye on Muno for a Yo Gabba Gabba party are just a few ways to turn this fun, fun party game into the excellent game for any them party. You all know how to play Pin the Tail on the Donkey...right? Each child gets a tail with two sided tape on it. You blind fold the player who is up, turn them around a couple times and then point them in the direction of the Donkey. They must try to stick the tail closest to where it belongs. The one who does get the tail close to where it belongs gets a prize...of course, you can give everyone a prize for playing. Stickers or temporary tattoos make great prizes for this kind of game...kids love them and they are about the cheapest party game prizes you are going to find.

The Pinata game is fun too. Pinatas are a primary Mexican game. A pinata is in fact a breakable container for party prizes and candies. The goal of this fun party game is to break the pinata and secure all the goodies underground inside. These pinatas come in every theme incredible so all you have to do is pick one that matches your theme and fill it with good stuff the kids will like. Stickers, temporary tattoos, candies and small game prizes work perfectly as filling. I like the pull string pinatas. This is a game that has strings the kids can pull. One of these strings rips the body of the pinata so the goodies fall out. Then everyone tries to secure all the goodies they can. You can buy a pull sting model or you can buy a pull string conversion kit to make this kids party game very safe. To play you hang your pinata up and blind fold each child as they take a turn pulling a string. You can put the blind fold on, and like with Pin the Tail on the Donkey, spin each child and head them off in the direction of the hanging pinata. Tell them about how many steps they need to take and send them off.

Sweet 16 Birthday Parties - Decorating

Your daughter's Sweet 16 birthday party will be one she will never forget, so make it memorable and beautiful using a lot of lights, balloons, streamers, music, and delicious food. A Sweet 16 party honors a girl of 15 who is turning 16 and entering the realm of becoming a young lady. It has been called the "coming of age" party since most states permit the privilege of driving a vehicle at the age of 16 years.

black and white party decorations

First and foremost, decide on a theme for your daughter's Sweet 16 party. The most popular colors used for the Sweet 16 birthday party are pink and purple, but any colors will do if they compliment the theme of the party. Some popular themes include Princess Sweet 16, Spa Night, Hollywood Evening, a Hawaiian Luau, Masquerade Ball, or a winter theme. All are meant to honor the 16-year-old birthday girl and her friends who come to celebrate with her.

PARTY DECORATIONS

Sweet 16 birthday parties are held in homes, banquet halls, and other special locations, depending on budget. No matter where you decide to host your party, these ideas will work for you when it comes to decorating for your daughter's Sweet 16 birthday party.

The entrance should wow your daughter's guests. Balloon arches are colorful and create a fantastic decoration at the door. LED mini light sets in pink, purple, or the color of your choosing will look fantastic adorning the greenery around the balloon arch. Use Christmas light stakes (you may have some in your attic right now) to make lights appear to "float" when placed along the walkway leading into the entrance. Use traditional incandescent C7, or C9 bulbs and cords to string along the walkway for added color. You can go a traditional route and use all clear or you can mix up the color of the bulbs according to your daughter's taste and the theme of the party.

The gift table is the perfect place to feature photographs of your daughter as she grew from a little girl to a young lady. White mini lights wrapped in tulle and accented with bows lining the table and accenting the photos on the tabletop will illuminate your daughter's images and make them that much more beautiful.

A beautiful Sweet 16 cake is a must at this party. Compliment or match the colors of the cake decorations with mini LED lights of the same colors around the cake table and around the cake itself to add sparkle and the "wow" factor. You can fill glass bricks available at craft stores with mini light and wrap like presents to accent the buffet and gift tables.

Girls love having their photograph taken, right? Take a blank wall and create a unique photo opportunity for your daughter and her guests. Scene setters can easily be rented from a local party store to match your theme. Surround the scene setter with mini lights, Razzberry LED lights, or Strawberry LED lights. Streamers and confetti often bring the look together nicely. Your daughter and friends will enjoy posing for photos throughout the evening.

Table linens should compliment the color scheme. Layer several together for a vivid splash of color and eye appeal. Balloons in colors that match the theme are great in large bunches, tied together, and placed in a decorative box, basket, or pot. Pool several sets of mini lights at the base of the balloons for a glittery and sparkling effect.

You may already have many of the lights you'll need leftover from the last Christmas holiday or you can find lights online all year. Whether you adopt one tip or all of them, planning and a few sparkly lights will make your young woman's Sweet 16 fun and memorable.

Decorating a Sweet 16 Party With Lights

Trying to figure out how to decorate for a Sweet 16 party can be daunting the first time you do it, but once you read over these ideas for adding light and ambiance to the party, you'll be excited about all the possibilities. Lights are the perfect accent to any party and a Sweet Sixteen party is no exception. Your little girl is growing up, so why not give her a grown up party with "teenage flair"? Here are some great ideas for incorporating Christmas lights and candles into your Sweet 16 party décor.

Indoor Lighting Ideas

PARTY DECORATIONS

Staircases look even more beautiful adorned with sparkles of light. Interweave strings of mini lights through the banister from top to bottom. Add tulle or gossamer fabric if you are planning a more formal party theme.

Decorate the entire indoor party space and areas surrounding it with strings of Christmas lights.

Create a ceiling of light in the main room by suspending lights from the ceiling.

Outline doorways and windows. Create a display table with photos of your daughter growing up. Drape lights all around the table and then cover them with sheer fabric so pinpoints of light will shine through.

Don't forget to decorate the gift table and food table with mini lights too!

Candles tucked safely inside glass hurricanes are perfect in groups around the house. Choose lights and candles in colors that match the theme of the party.

Outdoor Lighting Ideas

Decorate the trees, shrubs, fences, and any other outdoor feature you have in both your front and back yard. Lead the guests to the party area with lights lining the sidewalk or walkway. Decorate the food table and gift table with lights. Battery operated mini lights are perfect for transforming an ordinary table centerpiece into something extraordinary. Suspend light strings along the garden paths using light stakes. Create a beautiful lighted arch using an ordinary garden trellis - weave the lights all through the trellis and add vines or flowers for added color and pizzazz. Hang a banner introducing the guest of honor between two trees - add lights to the tree trunks and attach them to the banner if possible to make it sparkle. Line walkways or paths with luminaries - bags filled halfway with sand and votive candles nestled securely in the middle of the sand - especially nice for evening parties.

Christmas lights bring so much to the party! Lights come in just about every color and shape nowadays too, so choose the colors of lights for your Sweet 16 party that match or coordinate with the overall theme.

Pink, purple, and white are popular colors, but some teens prefer a combination of silver and white lights to make the occasion a bit more formal. Do whatever works for your party girl's preferences!

See that? You're a pro now that you have learned how to decorate for a Sweet 16 party with lights! The next one won't be so difficult, right? Have fun with it!

Instead of just choosing a beloved cartoon character select a beloved cartoon featuring a beloved cartoon and so on. This will allow for more elucidate mural and party scene setters. Then find lots of reference photos. These will need to be scanned or downloaded and printed. Kids Boombox - Music For Your Kids

Children these days are more tech savvy than their parents. Most parents proudly tell their friends, that their 1-year old baby unlocked the keypad and sent a message to their friend when he took the phone within a flash of 5 seconds. These days, it is kids who tell their parents how to order furniture online, what games to play, and how they can use the TV remote of their dish TV to record and save their favourite programmes.

yo gabba gabba dvd

Thus it is safe to think that kids these days are also in tune with the latest tunes and the latest music. They too, like us, crave for devices that will help them carry their music wherever they go. But they may be too young to be given Mp3s and iPods, so instead you can give them a Kids Boombox. Long ago, in the 90s, when the era of pop music started, there were people called "funks" who used to be seen carrying portable music systems on their shoulders. Kids Boomboxes are similar to those - except that they are for kids.

YO GABBA GABBA

Their cute cuddly shapes, and sunny colours are endearing to kids, and they have good sound quality. Children can now listen to music and develop their interest in it. And it need not always bother you - if you need peace in the house, your child can always take the Boombox up his tree house and listen to it to his heart's content. It will help him host little kiddie parties with his friends, and also practice singing with the help of the microphone, that comes with the Kids Boombox. He and his friends can play musical chairs, or just practice basketball in the courtyard with the Boombox making them feel "cool", like their 16-year old brothers.

The Kids boombox has built in capabilities that help you upload songs and even make playlists. Thus, you can also host your child's birthday party very successfully with the help of his Boombox. Just load his favourite songs - and watch the joy fill the room and their faces. You won't have to employ any birthday clowns because the Boombox makes up for all.

A positively good kind of pizza to try is mac and cheese. I extremely propose that you try it if you haven't yet. It might not sound like the norm, but, trust me, it is so tasty. It is even better when the slice comes with the macaroni on the top breaded.

Then there is the pizza that is called the spinach artichoke, which is extremely popular at every one of the top pizza joints in the city. It resembles the general spinach style that you might have tried, but also features artichokes and creamy cheese blends all through it. Numerous habitancy say that it is the best.

Finally, you have got to try a buffalo chicken pizza if you are like me and positively like buffalo chicken. It is a hot crust with the chicken on top and I know you are going to find it to be super good.

If you want to have more flavor on it, then just add some bleu cheese or have a cut off dip. The crust is going to taste good with it also.

It is my hope that you will be inspired by these distinct and creative pizza ideas. I, of course, love each and every one of them and it would be great if you did too.

Creative Ideas For Halloween Decorations

With 36.1 million trick-or-treaters visiting homes in 2006, it comes as no surprise that we all want our homes to look as "Halloweenish" as possible for the big night.

graduation party decorations

Here are some simple Halloween decorating ideas that will make your home look festive but won't break the bank.

PARTY DECORATIONS

Orange Lights

Change the light bulbs in your outdoor lanterns or house lights to orange lights. If you can't find orange light bulbs, you can purchase inexpensive Halloween themed string lights (like Christmas lights) and hang them around your front door.

Make Your Own Luminaries

Place homemade Halloween luminaries alongside the sidewalk or walkway up to your front door. You can make easy and inexpensive luminaries with paper lunch sacks. You can either leave them the original brown or spray paint them orange.

On each bag, lightly draw in pencil a rough outline of a pumpkin, ghost or spider. With a sharpened pencil or nail, poke holes about every inch along the outline of the design.

Fill each bag with approximately 1 ½-2 cups of sand. Place a votive candle in a glass votive holder and securely place the votive in the sand (or use glow sticks if you're leaving your home unattended). Light the votives at dusk on Halloween night and your home will have a beautiful Halloween glow.

Make Your Own Scarecrow

Using old slacks, an old flannel shirt, some hay and a straw hat, you can make your home come alive with a friendly scarecrow welcoming your trick-or-treaters.
The other supplies you'll need are twine, permanent marker, an old pillowcase and an outdoor chair.

Stuff the pants and shirt firmly with hay, leaving some of the hay sticking out from the bottom of the legs and bottom of the sleeves. Position the scarecrow's pants in the chair and shift the hay so he "sits" comfortably in the chair.

Tie the arms and legs off with twine. Stuff the old pillowcase with hay. Tie off with twine and position the pillowcase inside the shirt collar to appear as the "head" of the scarecrow. Secure the pillowcase to the shirt by tying off with twine. With the permanent marker, draw a scarecrow face and place the hat on top.

Make Your Own Pumpkin Family

By painting silly and whimsical faces on pumpkins, you can create an entire pumpkin family that can be proudly displayed on bales of hay on and around your front door.

On paper, sketch your ideas of what kind of face you'd like to put on your pumpkin. Transfer that design to a cleaned and dried pumpkin using a non-permanent marker. Paint the design using craft paints. Seal with a spray glaze or sealer.

If each member of your family (even the little ones) paints their own pumpkin design, you'll have a memorable collection of painted pumpkin decorations for your home.

Weight Management: Wanna Lose Weight? Cheat!

Fitness magazines and so-called fitness pundits love to flood their audience with the same old messages year after year.
Summer's coming? Try our orange-only diet!

yo gabba gabba toys

Winter's coming? Then try our 14-day watery soup diet!

YO GABBA GABBA

Summer's gone? Why don't you try our brand new 'don't eat until noon' diet?

I've never been too fond of those standardized diets that are supposed to work wonders on everyone. Everybody has a different metabolism, different reactions to different foods, and thus using a run-of-the-mill magazine diet doesn't make any sense at all. Instead of being hell-bent on losing that extra inch on the waist by turning into a diet maniac, let's approach the problem from a different angle: by making small, gradual changes to your diet over a period of time you won't feel like you've been imprisoned and banned from opening the fridge ever again.

We are creatures of habits, changing them is a long process, not a 2 week sprint. Give yourself just 3 months to completely rethink what foods define you and what acceptable substitutes you'd be ready to use in order to get healthier and therefore slimmer.

Usually people want to get slim first, without even thinking what impact it can have on their health when the trim-down is done without any regards to proper nutrition.

Below is a substitute chart that you can use as a basis to redefine your diet on the long term.

Most frequently used carbs

White bread
White pasta
White rice

Acceptable substitutes

Whole grain bread, 50/50 bread (half white flour, half whole flour)
Whole grain pasta, spinach-based pasta, tomato-based pasta
Gabba rice/whole grain rice

Most frequently used vegetables

Carrots
Tomatoes
Green peas

Acceptable substitutes

Cauliflower
Avocado
Kidney beans

Most frequently used protein

Beef
Pork
Chicken

Acceptable substitutes

Turkey
Ostrich
Crustaceans

The short list of substitutes I've mentioned here are to be used as a starting point and they all are, without exception, far superior in terms of health benefits. Saying no to a fat, juicy hamburger is still too hard? Cheat please! A simple rule of thumb will greatly help you in your quest for a better figure (outside AND most importantly inside): 90/10.

Nutritionally, if you stay on track with your substitutes 90% of time you're allowed to cheat hard 10% of the time. Suicidal? Not at all, consider this as a just reward for your efforts. Eat clean, go easy on the salad dressing and exercise each and every day except on Sunday. Sunday is truly your pig out day. have a burger with fries and wash it down with an ice-cold coke. This reward will help you cope with the change and the beauty of it all is that you don't even have to feel guilty about it! Used to clean, wholesome foods, your body won't have the chance to even notice that you cheated it of a healthy meal.

Home Decor Parties - A Great Home Business

If you're looking for a business that

hello kitty party decorations

o you can start and run from home

PARTY DECORATIONS

o requires a minimum start-up cost and

o provides you the opportunity to work your own hours

o has the potential for you to earn as much as you want

check into becoming a consultant for a Home Decor company.

How A Home Party Business Works:

As a consultant with a home decor company, you start by purchasing a sales kit that has everything you need to hold your first party, or first several parties. You will also receive training from another consultant or manager in the company - usually the person who sponsored you.

The basic idea behind this type of business - known as direct sales, or direct selling, is that you recruit people who are willing to hold a home decor party in their home and invite guests - neighbors, colleagues, friends and family members.

During the party, you pass out a catalog and show the products that are in your sales kit, and take orders. You might also do a few simple product demonstrations - for example, show how to combine silk flowers with candlestick holders, or show how well different items in the catalog can be combined to create customized decor.

You also invite other guests to schedule a party in their homes at a later date, offering incentives such as free or reduced merchandise or "hostess-only" gifts that they can earn by holding a party.

Why Home Party Businesses are So Successful

These types of home shopping parties are very popular, especially for newly married, 30-something women, who are looking for ways of making their homes more attractive and welcoming, but have little time to shop or learn more than basic skills in home decorating. Plus, everyone loves going to a party, where you can relax, get together with friends and have a good time.

Home Party Companies

Two well-known home decor companies are "Home Interiors" and "Southern Living Home Party." According to their Website, Home Interiors has over 100,000 Decorating Consultants, and is the largest direct seller of home accessories in North America.

Southern Living Home Party offers individualized WebPages to each of their consultants and royalties (an additional commission) for every consultant who signs up as a result of your recommendation.

To find more home party companies, search on the Internet for "home décor parties" "direct selling opportunities" or "home décor party plan business."

Is a Home Party Decor Business Right for You?

Even people who say they don't like selling often do very well with this type of business, especially if they choose a company with a solid reputation, a good training program and quality merchandise.

According to Helen Huppert, a director with Southern Living At Home, she started her business as a way to get out of the house once a week but soon realized she could contribute to her family's monthly income. One of the things she likes best about running her own home party consulting business is that she knows she's not alone, that she's part of a team who is committed to her success.

It's important that you take a realistic look at your personal attitudes and likes and dislikes. If you're someone who doesn't like to get up in front of people and talk, or if you think you won't be willing to put in the time it takes to make phone calls and get parties lined up, this might not be the best business for you.

On the other hand, if the issue is simply that you're not sure of yourself, or you are shy, this might be exactly the type of business you need to build your confidence and increase your self-esteem. By letting your sponsor or trainer know about your misgivings, and letting her know what training you might benefit from the most, you'll increase your chances of success.

What to Watch Out For

Before choosing which home décor party company you want to work with, do some Background research on the company first. Ask your sponsor questions, and if possible, get the contact information of other home décor consultants as well and talk to them as well. Check with your local better business bureau, state attorney general's office and local Chamber of Commerce.

As with any home-based business opportunity, owning your own home décor consulting business, you need to investigate the offer and the company seriously, and make an informed decision. But once you make the commitment, dive in with both feet and prepare yourself to have a wonderful time meeting new people, earning additional income and maybe even winning some great prizes. Before long, you'll find that you've mastered new skills, and will be well on your way to being a successful business owner doing something you love.
