College Student Costumes - Yo Gabba! Gabba! Part 1

Yo Gabba! Gabba! is popular with both small children and college students. This year, consider a Yo Gabba! Gabba! costume for Halloween, especially if you live off campus and plan on handing out treats. Your friends will like it, and small kids will probably think you're the character you've dressed up as.

DJ Lance is often considered the most popular of the Yo Gabba! Gabba! Characters, and for good reason. He's the one who opens and closes the show, and interacts with all the characters of Gabbaland. You can buy a ready made costume that consists of an orange jump suit with white stripes, orange sneakers, and a fuzzy orange hat. If buying a costume is not for you, hit up the second hand store for and orange shirt and pants, and use reflective tape to make the white stripes. You could probably find a white hat and dye it orange with some fabric dye, and wear your own sneakers. Pair with a boombox style stereo, and you're all set!

Brobee is also another popular character. His two tone green fur makes him almost huggable, and who can forget the song "Party in My Tummy?" Adult pre made costumes consist of a large green striped shirt, green mittens, and a hat that you can pair with dark pants and your own shoes. If you're making the costume, look for a dark green shirt, and pair it with green gloves (look for cheap stretchy ones sold around this time of year), and a green hat. If you want to get really creative, buy some felt and glue white eyes with black pupils to the hat, and some orange triangles on the top to look like the one that decorate the top of Brobee's head.

For the ladies, why not dress as Foofa? Since she's the only girl on the show, she's a natural choice. Pre made costumes come with a pink dress, shaped like Foofa's pear shape, and a hat styles like Foofa's face. If you're trying to make a costume yourself, look for a large, oversized sweatshirt in pink, or a plain pink dress. You can make a hem with some tape, and run a cord through the hem, so it'll cinche up. Stuff your dress with crumpled newspaper to get Foofa's pear shape. Get some pale pink felt, and cut some teardrop shapes, and affix them to the collor to mimic the flower collar this lovable Gabbaland girl has.

College Student Costumes - Yo Gabba! Gabba! Part 2

If you're a college student who loves Yo Gabba! Gabba! And is looking for a Halloween costume this year, then consider going as one of the inhabitants of Gabbaland. Small kids will think your costume is great, and other college students will probably recognize you right off the bat. We'll cover Muno, Plex, and Toodee.

Muno is a great costume to buy pre made. Because he has bumpy skin, it's hard to recreate by making your own costume, unless you want to put some work into it. Premade Muno costumes are usually a one piece jumpsuit modeled after Muno's bumpy skin, a tall hat with his one eye on it, and matching mittens. If you're going to try and make this costume, you could go simple and get a red t shirt and red pants, and then top it off with a red hat. Buy some white and black felt, and glue one round eye onto the hat, and you'll be good to go. If you want to get a little more involved, consider hitting up a craft store or the kid's toy aisle, and try and pick up some balls, ornaments, or molds. As long as they're round, or half round, they'll do. For round, cut them in half, and then spray paint, or use acrylic paint to colour them red. Once they're dry glue them to the shirt, pants, and hat to mimic Muno's bumpy surface. There's a chance they'll fall off while you wear your costume, so avoid gluing them to problem areas, like your seat, knees, elbows, or anywhere that's going to be bent or pushed on a lot.

Plex the robot is another complicated costume. The pre made costume has a yellow shirt with robot detailing, and silver sleeves like Plex has. It comes with a hat with Plex's face on it, and you pair it with your own pants and shoes. If you want to go the inexpensive route, pick up a yellow T shirt. Layer it over a grey, long sleeved shirt, and wear black pants. Buy a tube of fabric paint, and use Google to look up an image of Plex, and recreate his robot designs on the yellow shirt. Then, get a hat, yellow preferred, and glue felt eyes to it, and find a small ball to affix to the top. Paint the ball red before you glue it in place. Pair the shirts and hats with dark pants and sneakers, and you're good to go.

Toodee, the cat dragon, is a costume you'll have to make yourself. The few pre made Toodee costumes available are very expensive, often costing upwards of 0. So, save yourself the cost of books for the term, and make the costume. Second hand stores should come in handy for this pale blue outfit. Find a blue shirt and pants, and pair with your own shoes. Hit up the craft store for some lighter blue felt. Cut out an oval, and glue it on the shirt to mimic Toodee's pale blue belly. For the head, either buy a blue hat and glue felt eyes on it, or pick up an inexpensive cat costume set in white. Usually it's only ears and a tail, and you'll only need the ears. Using fabric dye, or even some blue food colouring, dye the ears pale blue. Now your costume is complete!
