Smurfs Birthday Party Ideas - How to Plan a Smurfs Party Without Spending a Lot of Money

Are you planning a Smurfs Birthday Party? This article will tell you how to plan a Smurfs party without spending a lot of money. I've included money-saving ideas for your party invitations, room decorations, games, prizes & favors, party food, and birthday cake. You will be surprised at how easy it is...just think blue!

For the invitations... start planning your party about a month in advance or at least two weeks. Purchase pre-made Smurf themed invitations or make your own out of construction paper. A fun idea is to suggest that your guest to wear blue!

PARTY DECORATIONS

For the decorations... you can decorate for a Smurfs party very inexpensively by using lots of blue balloons and blue streamers. Set around any Smurfs toys you might already have. Hang a Smurfs movie poster on the wall and later move it to your child's room. They will love it!

For the table... more blue. Blue colored paper plates, napkins, cups, and plastic tablecover can be purchased very cheaply at most discount stores. If you don't mind spending a little extra, purchase Smurfs themed party plates, napkins, tablecover, etc. As an alternative, use just the themed napkins with solid plates, of just the tablecover with solid plates & napkins. The themed paper plates are sold by the 8 count, so depending on how many guest you have, it can get rather expensive. I've sometimes used the themed plates only to serve the birthday cake. Even though they do cost more, the themed partyware does add to the decorations and the birthday child will love it!

For the party games... decide on only one or two basic party games. Pin the Tail on the Donkey is always a favorite. Hot Potato, played using a blue ball or Smurf doll would make a fun game. And, of course, a pinata is always a good idea.

For the game prizes or favors... use Smurfs stickers, tattoos, coloring books, books, and small blue balls, etc.

For the party food... you guessed it...more blue! What do Smurfs eat? Smurfberries, of course! Along with other party foods, add some "blue food" choices. Blueberries and blue jello w/ cool whip topping are a couple of my favorite ideas. Goldfish crackers are also theme appropriate. Choose some type of blue drink, along with a couple of other drink choices.

Last, but not least is the Birthday cake... If you'd like to save money and make your own cake, purchase a couple of Smurf figures (These can double as a gift!) to place on a homemade or bought cake. If possible, use blue icing for the border or make all of the icing blue. Most bakeries will have the Smurf themed cakes available, but be sure and order early. I always like to serve party mints and cocktail peanuts with the cake and ice cream.

In summary... It's really pretty simple to plan a fun Smurfs party for kids without spending a lot of money! Send out homemade invitations inviting your guest to wear blue to your party. Decorate with blue tableware and lots of blue balloons. Play a few fun games and finish up with a Smurfs themed birthday cake (that you can easily make yourself) and ice cream (blue ice cream?). Don't forget to take plenty of pictures! I hope these ideas have helped you plan your party!
