Tea Party Menus - Fancy Nancy Would Approve of These Fancy Finger Foods!

Tea Party Menus are different from other party menus. You always see these tiny sandwiches for tea party, they are called finger sandwiches because you can hold them in your fingers. It's easy to make these small, but very tasty, sandwiches. Another menu idea is cupcakes, or mini desserts. Fruits dipped in chocolate are always welcomed at any kind of party. Put cheese and crackers out and of course, put out the party picks so the guests can pick up the hors d'ouevres. Now you've got the idea, right. Tea Party Menus usually mean small foods, tasty foods and pretty looking foods.

The finger sandwiches are simple to make. Take two pieces of bread and cut off the crust. Put some chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad or thinly sliced tomatoes on the bottom slice and put the other slice on top. (add some mayo to the tomato sandwich!) Cut it into 4 pieces and set it aside on a serving tray that's been covered with a large paper doily. Make more sandwiches until you have enough.

Another sandwich idea is instead of bread use the corn tortillas you usually use for Mexican recipes. Spread a little of the filling on it thinly and roll it up. Use toothpicks to keep it closed. Put about 5 in it...and now cut it up into 5 or so pieces, each held shut with a toothpick. Now you've just made pinwheel sandwiches. Another perfect tea party menus idea.

Tea can be served in your finest china tea cups (unless your guests are little children) and make sure you set your table with some sugar cubes and milk. Some people do like honey and lemon in their tea, but tea parties usually don't have them set out at the table.

Desserts were mentioned in the beginning of the article...but you can make mini cupcakes and frost them in a pretty pastel color. Dip some pieces of banana and strawberry in melted chocolate. Insert a toothpick in each piece of the fruit...you can also serve some uncoated fruit along side the chocolate covered pieces. There is are some nice afternoon party menus that are easy to make and delicious to eat! Enjoy your party!
